Data processing on our website

Your personal data will be processed if this is covered by your consent or if data processing is permitted by law. The legal basis for data processing is the execution or initiation of a contract, consent, a legal obligation, or our overriding legitimate interests. We process data that we collect when operating our website and our online presence.

Generally:

Data is processed for a variety of purposes. As a rule, processing only occurs when you contact us of your own accord, for example when you visit our website, communicate with us by email, purchase our goods and services, or order a newsletter or other information from us. We primarily use this data to offer and further develop our services and website, for communication (e.g. answering inquiries), for customer acquisition and retention, and for advertising and marketing (provided consent has been given or you, as an existing customer, do not object). We may also use the data, for example, to protect and assert our legal claims, to ensure the continuation of our business operations, and the security of our IT infrastructure. We process personal data that we receive from you or third parties involved, or that we collect ourselves. For example, you or the data subjects provide us with personal data when you contact us by email or web form, or inquire about our goods and services. If you register personally or make reservations via our website or request information material or other services, we require personal information from you. This includes, for example, name and contact details as well as information about the role of the data subject in the company or organization for which you or the respective contact persons work or on whose behalf you or they contact us. We also collect some personal data ourselves, e.g. from public registers or on websites. If you provide us with personal data via a third party (e.g. via your employees or other contact persons), it is your responsibility to inform them in general terms about the processing by us or other external service providers. We process the personal data within our area of responsibility in Switzerland. However, we may transmit the personal data to recipients (namely our processors, but also other third parties, authorities, etc.) who in turn process the personal data in other countries, including those that do not guarantee a level of data protection comparable to Swiss law. We will do the latter based on consent or standard contractual clauses, or if it is necessary to fulfill a contract or enforce legal claims.

Cookies & Tracking

We use so-called “cookies” on our website, which can be used to identify the device you use to access our website. Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can send to your browser to better support you with database-driven systems. However, you have the option of setting your browser so that it notifies you when you receive a cookie, automatically rejects cookies, or only stores cookies as long as you are on the website or have the browser open. This means you can decide whether you want to accept cookies or not. If you block cookies, certain functions (such as language selection, shopping cart, ordering processes) may no longer work. For website optimization and statistical purposes, we collect so-called tracking data, which provides information about user surfing behavior. Such tracking data, which we collect, for example, with Google Analytics, does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual users. No individuals can be identified based on this data. Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. or Google Ireland Limited google.com. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable a (non-personal) analysis of your use of our website. Google Analytics is configured so that your IP address is shortened by Google within Europe before being transmitted to the USA, and all functions that would allow identification via a possible Google account are deactivated. Based on the way we configure Google Analytics, we assume that the information we share with Google is not personal data for Google. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Google may use this data for its own purposes to draw conclusions about the identity of visitors, create personal profiles and link this data to these people's Google accounts. If you have a Google account, you can be identified by Google. The processing of your personal data by Google is then the responsibility of Google and in accordance with Google's privacy policy. You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website, as well as from processing this data, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: tools.google.com. Further information can be found at tools.google.com or at google.com for general information on Google Analytics and data protection. The data is retained for 26 months and then automatically and irrevocably deleted.

The platform providers can analyze your usage and process this data together with other data they have about you. They also process this data for their own purposes (e.g., marketing and market research purposes and to administer their platforms) and act as their own controllers for this purpose. Therefore, please consult the privacy policies of the respective platforms:

We only store personal data for as long as necessary to process services and contracts, if there is a legal obligation to retain and document data, if we have an overriding private or public interest in doing so, or if storage is purely for technical reasons (e.g., in the case of backups or archiving systems). Unless there are legal or contractual obligations or technical reasons to the contrary, we generally delete or anonymize your data after the storage or processing period has expired.
